Dating someone with the same name as your sister
Both of them named their first son as Juniors, meaning that one of my brothers and one of my stepbrothers *also* have the same first name.
Then my sister hooked up with a man with the *same* first name, so I also have a BIL with the *same* name.
Now, if another guy came along with that name it might be a little harder since I already associate that name with my ex, but ultimately people are individuals and it's not too hard to associate an old name with a new face. For a while in high school, in fact, I had a crush on a guy who not only had the same name as my dad but also the same birthday. At least, not without a bit of genealogical Q&As first.I was in a class that, for some reason, had about 4 or 5 students in it who had either the same given name as my mom or a slight variation. But on the other hand, Edward isn't a terribly common name for men in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties, so I don't think it'd be much of an issue for me. I think if we took a poll, a lot of people would have Mom issues such as that. Perhaps you're thinking of a different odd thing, though.I was attracted to several of them and one of them, who was one of the "same names", I was really attracted to. Try dating someone with the same name as a sibling.. When I was in high school one of my friends dated a guy with the same name as her brother - Mike. Well, I figure I wouldn't date a guy who looked like my Dad. But heck, if I ever meet me a nice available nerd, it would sure be nice if his worst defect would be having "James" for a firstname! So, I've recently started seeing this really great guy. It's not a major issue.a minor thing that makes me go 'ick' sometimes, if I think about it. Could you be involved with someone who had the same name as a parent/guardian? I did for years, and not only did he have the same name as my Dad but he looked like him and in many ways acted like him too. I tease him that he's off the hook if he accidentally calls out the wrong name, but he assures me that he has us straight.I dated a girl who had the same first name as my mother. It was only odd at first, and later if my Mom referred to my Dad by his given name and I'd have to wonder who she was talking about. : DI'm living with a guy with the same name as a horrible ex of mine. Especially since there was a break in time but no other relationships to speak of between them.
